"From Bioluminescence to Glow Sticks: Stories of Fluorescence in Everyday Life" with Anne-Lise Emig

Have you ever marveled at a glow stick? Wondered what's in glow-in-the-dark paint? Today we're talking about fluorescence: what is it? How does it work? What's it used for? We'll learn about the chemistry of fluorescence and we'll hear some stories of people at the forefront of research in fluorescence. Join Anne-lise Emig, a graduate of New College of Florida and a fluorescence nerd, for this interesting exploration into what makes things glow. She worked as the science associate for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Street Science. She's passionate about making science accessible to the general public, and loves learning about the chemistry behind every day phenomena.
